-
- MUI is a GUI, (Graphic User Interface) Like other Amiga GUI's. Program's use
- MUI so they have a Easyer time making the GUI in there program, saving time,
- and making there own software SMALLER. It has nothen to do with AmigaOS which
- is using it's own GUI.
-
- Some people COMPLAIN that MUI's GUI is SLOW, and makes programs that are using
- it CRASH left and right, UNSTABLE as HELL and just plain SLOW! Well that
- could be True if you didn't Install MUI with the INSTALLER, Or your Amiga only
- has a SLOW 68000 processor, if you only have a couple Megs of RAM. I bet some
- of these MUI Bitchers havn't tryed MUI 3.0 or higher! Or they just have
- nothen better to bitch about it all the time.
-
- I have been using MUI on my A1200 030/50Mzh 10 Meg ram with around 450 megs
- of HD Space, and MUI isn't SLOW! MUI DOesn't CRASH. MUI had some Minor
- problems with FORMS in AMosiac and it would crash a lot from that, but with MUI
- 3.2 thats no longer the case. Other MUI programs I use never Crash,
- In fact I've forgoten the LAST time my Amiga has crashed, It's it's on for
- hours with Multiable programs running at once, Including Multable MUI GUI
- programs, like AmIRC, AmFTP, Amosiac, all running at ONCE, all using MUI, and
- NOT Crashing and not SLOW, while I have other programs running like THOR. So
- I just don't see the problem.
-
- I have No Idea what Motif is? Is it a GUI? AMosiac requires MUI because's
- thats the GUI software it's using, that's all.
- MUI is a TOOL, and it is USED to Customize the LOOK and feel of Programs using
- MUI for the GUI!
- That's things like basically everything you see when you run the program. The
- Windows, the Buttons, the gagets, the Colors,. etc. Unlike the other GUI's,
- MUI is Much for Configurable. That being the case it's BIGGER then other
- GUI's and yes NOT AS FAST, but you can't have it both ways. Like any other
- program, the Larger and better it gets, the Slower it'll run and the faster
- Processor you may or may not Need.
-
- Sometimes I wish other programs that didn't used MUI WOULD. I know I'll get
- Raged on saying this but Sometimes I wished THOR used MUI, just so when a
- windowed Opened I could just click on the winndow Gaget and it'd be Snapshot
- right there in Place everytime it poped up, it's so EASY to do! It's easyer
- then THOR's way of doing it now I think.
-
- Does any of this make since?
-
- That's my .02 cents worth.
